Linn Bae is a bold and charismatic painter whose work is expressive, colorful, and dynamic. She focuses on gouache and acrylic as mediums and often creatively employs the use of rice paper from Asia on stretched canvas.

Linn hails from Korea and immigrated to the US in 1971. She started painting as an adult after having two children, and attended The Hartford Art School.

She resides in Connecticut and has shown her artwork there, as well as galleries in Chelsea, Boston, Seoul, and beyond. She has won several awards and been featured in The Hartford Courant.

In her work, Linn uses simple spontaneous strokes and intense color to convey intimate feelings. Her influences include early European expressionists as well as her father, whose successful career as a sculptor in Korea left her with an intensity and passion for expression.
